Sounds of Hope
Sing, Sing, Sing! Bringing Health and Harmony Home is an educational and interactive live concert for older adults, their families, and their care partners. Together we:
- share stories about our favorite, most memorable music;
- learn about how music helps our brain;
- take home some resources on how to use music to reduce stress; and
- SING!
Mary Shapiro is a performer, songwriter and educator. The journey with her mother and father through dementia and depression inspired her to serve older adults and their families. Well-versed in the Music & Memory® program and certified in Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Care®, Mary is a facilitator for the Stress-Busting Program for Family Caregivers™ as a volunteer with George Mason University.
As the creator of Sing, Sing, Sing! Bringing Health and Harmony Home Mary has presented in person to organizations and individuals in Frederick and Loudon counties, and on Zoom for Aging Together. Mary lives in gratitude with her husband Jeff and their dog, Rosie, near Marshall, Virginia.
